My colleague tendered his resignation letter on last month. Based on the company policy, we need to give three months notice to the company. So, in my colleague’s case, he only can leave the company at end of February 2008.
He actually got the sponsorship from government to study at Australia. Surprisingly, the sponsorship even allows him to bring his own family to there! All the expenses will be covered! But, the sponsorship contract said that he must start to register on end of January.
In our company policy, if you choose to leave before three months, you need to pay for the compensation to the company. Besides, the last month salary would be on hold until the balance is cleared!
This is bad news to my colleague. For your information, he has family and he is the main stream income for his family. Blocking the pay seems to be the nightmare for him.
